You know the first time you get an agent you want to scream and shout! And if you know they are a REALLY GOOD ONE, You really want to yell. Except that's bad for the voice so I had just better type.

For any of you that are looking for your first agent, do your homework. I have been searching for 18 months for the perfect fit for me. I finally found it in Atlanta and I couldn't be happier!

I had a lot of talent agents come to me and then when I INVESTIGATED into their backgrounds they weren't a good fit or even going to be working in my best intrest.

ASK YOUR FRIENDS. That's where you get some very good info, WORD OF MOUTH...but that's what we all do.

I just want to celebrate just a little with YA'LL!

Take care and GOOD LUCK out there!

Hi Karen, my gosh congatulations!!!! Your technique is exactly what I've been employing. Patience is a virtue, after all, and finding the right fit is much, much better than not finding the right fit. I like the way you think.

That is a great feeling, especially when you've put time and effort into finding the right fit for you. Congratulations!

You just have to be patient and take all the right steps to put youself in the best place for it to happen. Talk to your friends about who's been good for them. Who's not so good so you might avoid those agencies. Make sure you have the best demos possible. A lot of factors go into it so YEAH it's not going to happen overnight. But if you keep at it and turn out great will happen.
Good Luck

Egggcellent...way to go!!! You're right..doin' some digging and researching/asking around can go a long way. I have (not even sure of the exact number anymore because there is little to NO contact with most of them) close to 10 "agents"...the only ones that produce on a regular basis are the ones that aren't MODELING agencies that sideline in VoiceOvers. Not to say there aren't some good ones that double dip...but I none that I have ever associated with. The best results come from agencies that deal strictly in VO. At least that is my experience soooo far. I look forward to updates....I still think you should be doing the tags for Progressive Insurance!!~
