The Mayan Calendar? Ha! VOICE 2012 is alive and well!
Announcing the VOICE 2012 commercial! Voice actor, John Wray, was tapped to voice this video commercial after being chosen from over 200 auditions. Congratulations, John!
John Wray’s path into the world of voiceover really began in 2002, when he started acting again after 30 years away from the theater. He has been part of the Seattle theater scene for the past 10 years. Fast Forward to 2008, and a commercial voiceover workshop with Kathy Levin, one of the most highly respected voice talents in Seattle, and a friend and mentor to this day. Then a whole lot of baby steps: getting my commercial and narration demos made, putting together a very rudimentary home studio, getting those all-important first jobs. And then a big step: VOICE 2010 - Lots of new people, lots of information, so much excitement! Next big step: The decision to leave the remodeling business (did I mention that John had been a contractor for 25 years?) and become a full-time voiceover guy, in January of 2012. More firsts: Getting on the web (john-wray.com), first TV spot, first long-form job (for an e-learning site), first audio book… And now, the VOICE 2012 promo! How cool is that!?
You’re invited to enjoy the sights and sounds of VOICE as John tells you about this amazing, international, incredibly fun convention for voice actors. This year’s venue is Disneyland, California! Come join us at the happiest place on earth, June 13-16th! For more info, visit VOICEConvention.com!
