It's been 2 1/2 months since they blew up the Smooth Jazz Format in DC and flipped to Classic Oldies. Working my company projects has been time consuming, but an exciting time for me, The sky's the limit. Now I've got to buckle down and finish the editing on my book "Wisdom From The Jazzman" (which I hope will be in the next week) and choose the cover art. Do I miss radio? Sometimes it's hard to listen to because I'm not on it. LOL After 34 years non-stop through 5 cities, the break is doing me… Continue

Is anyone else as fired up for this film as I am? It will be a welcomed return for Harrison Ford and it kind of makes me feel like a kid again! Can't wait!

The following is a recent post on my blog with accompanying podcast at blog.bobbinbeam.com
What Is Never Out Of Style?
It is useful to sometimes reflect upon one's past experiences in order to gain a sense of perspective on the current state of the voice-over world. That sense of history and the way things used to be done in comparison to how things are handled now also presents some startling , highly contrasting… Continue

I'm hoping to get responses from voice-actors everywhere on their formulas for quoting clients.
I promise to collate, assimilate and disseminate the results to everyone.
I'd write up my proposal again here, but it's already on my blog at:
Your input appreciated. Feedback by commenting at the bottom of the blog or e-mailing me personally. email@example.com.

Each Friday on the VOX Daily blog, I post a column called "Who Got the Gig".
It gives you an opportunity to share info on what kind of gigs you've been doing while also answering the question many people mull over of "who got the gig?".
It's fun, interesting, and you also get to toot your own horn with a link to your website.
Sound like something you'd like to take part in?…

Voice coaching! Thats right, I am getting coached. As of right now, I am coming up short locally finding anything to join, but through voiceoversavvy.com I learned of the wonderful and talented Phyllis K. Day. I sent off my recording to her last night, she replied, and now I just have to figure out when would be best for all involved.
Time right now isn't something I have a lot of. For those who don't now I work two jobs. One is pretty easy (taking sales orders over the phone for a… Continue

Overall, I would say that I am a diligent person. I love accomplishing my goals and doing what it takes to succeed. Sounds like a solid plan in my head, but there is a major drawback when it comes to becoming a voice actor. There are a million things you could be doing (and should be doing) to get your name and voice out to the masses. Sometimes I drive myself insane because I really feel like I should be doing more or I am unsatisfied with any amount of effort I put forth. So many… Continue

This site is crazy addictive and is now one of my primary hangouts in the social networking sphere.
One aspect that adds an interesting dynamic to I Rock the Mic VO is that when you are on the home page of the network, you get to hear a rotation of demos, and I must say you talented people are loving the slate!
I've written about slating
a few times on… Continue

Cool, another place to play. Had three auditions yesterday, we'll see. Was supposed to go diving today, but my buddy flaked on me. Oh, well, it happens. The ocean will still be there tomorrow. The wife and I watched Cloverfield last night, pretty cool. Need to go and work on my motorcycle, so that's all for now!
