VO-U!

Posted on January 6, 2009 at 2:22pm 2 Comments

I know a lot of people probably do it quietly, one on one with Zurek. But I would like to make it public!!. The site is growing and many more people are flocking here because it is the place to be for VO networking. Zurek, you work hard on this site and many notice the changes daily and just say "ahh that's nice" and move on. But building websites like I do, I know the time and trouble it takes to keep a site updated, but not only that, you the looks, feel and over all theme constantly.… Continue

Traveling

Posted on December 21, 2008 at 11:04am 1 Comment

I have spent the last two months doing a lot of traveling. And I am well past the "hey this is fun" part......But I was thinking, while being new in the business and landing only a few jobs, I was wondering how many of the professionals that do this fully, ever bring their travel equipment just in case a job comes in. Unless you have a steady stream of work from one client, I am guessing you never know when work does come in.

What got me thinking of this, is now with the airlines… Continue

Wonder.........

Posted on December 2, 2008 at 10:04am 1 Comment

While driving home last night from work, I heard a commercial for a new animated movie. I sat back and wondered with all the actors being asked to do the VO work (lending their name to the production to get move audience.) I was wondering if any VO actors feel slighted because of this. You have actors in front of the camera making good money, then you have VO actors trying to make a living and here an actor steps in and does their job. Just the random odd thought in my head.

My First Day

I was quite surprised at the responses when I joined up in VoiceOver Universe. Speaking with another voice actor Scott Fortney suggested that I come here. I am glad I did! It is nice to arrive at a place, being the new person, not having the experience as everyone else and they still greet you warmly. This to me says a lot of the site. Well since VO is not my profession (yet) I must return to the real job. Time to make the bourbon!!

Hi Orion!

I know you’ve been a member of Voiceover Universe for some time, but I wanted to introduce one of our groups to you.

I hope you'll check out and join a group called MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT. It's a group dedicated to discussing ways we can market ourselves - what works; what doesn't. You’ll find some very interesting ideas and concepts there! And we would appreciate your input. Click here for the link: MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT!

Thanks for your time! I trust our paths will cross soon!

Best to ya!

Hi Orion: Knowing this was your birthday, I sat down and wrote you a
song. Here are the lyrics . . . .”This is your Birthday Song,
It isn’t very long . . . “

And many more . . . !

Comment by Orion Marra 38 minutes ago Funny I see this. I happen to work at one of the distillery's here in Kentucky. You can actually see some of our product on the bar shelf in the last scene. Very cool.
