Neil: Thought it would be interesting to collect the top recommended Pro Tools plug-ins used by voiceover home studio users. My list would include: BNR, Normalize, and EQ 3. When you are putting your money where your mouth is, what plug-ins add real value? Share and enjoy! Al
I hope this will be a great experience for you and that you'll make a lot of new friends - and keep in touch with old ones.
Also, I hope you'll check out a group that we just started called MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT. It's a group dedicated to discussing ways we can market ourselves - what works; what doesn't. And with your experience, you would be a tremendous resource!
Are you at the GBoro location or Raleigh? If Raleigh then you get to work with Mike Urben. Hands down the best commercial VO in the whole market. Mike is also the VO for many Salem news/talk stations. Great guy that Mike Urben!
We used/use BC on Toledo alt WRWK... I asked for less limiting on his tracks (there's a lot) and he went into a tizzy... so I was done with him after that. Bratton still gets my vote.
Voiceregistry did nothing. In fact, I"m not re-signing. Trying voicehunter.com instead. And buying some tracks on their upcoming cd's they'll be sending out March-May for radio and TV stations. For the price per track I couldn't target 4000 stations for the same price. Downside... there's others on the cd, lol!
You've got a good young sound to you. A bonus these days. I've got the typical..and arguably no longer wanted.... "big voice".
I produced the imaging..... The Buzzard used to use John Wells. L-O-V-E HW... www.johnwells.com. He was on WMMS when I left for Raleigh. Later we'd put Wells on WRDU after then PD Bob Edwards heard me producing the launch pieces for WVBZ.
BC? I'm not a fan. I'd rather use Mike Bratton like WEBN does.
I was at WTRG/WRDU from 00-04. Imaged WRDU and WTRG (now WRVA) and was also PD of WTRG, later PD.
