Over the past few months, my team and I have laid the foundation for the “Voice Over Club”. Our goal is to provide an exclusive membership training website that will deliver education and rich content about the process of becoming a professional voice actor. We are working hard and plan to launch the Voice Over Club this Summer.

In all honesty, the experience has been both challenging and a lot of fun. It’s like putting together a huge puzzle in that there are several key pieces that need to fit in order for this to work.

Unlike other training programs, the “Voice Over Club” will offer E-learning modules about the ins and outs of becoming a voice actor. Additionally, we will include expert interviews, blogs, articles and studio tours. For up-to-date information on what will be the ultimate educational tool for aspiring voice actors, sign up at www.VoiceOverClub.com.

I welcome your ideas, so let’s start with this question; What would you like to see on a voice over training site that would truly inspire you in your path to becoming a professional voice talent?

John cracked me up. Open bar! I hope it comes with clean bathrooms, too. That said, the thing I always stress and think that "newbs" need to know is that there are no guarantees. They may be told they have a fantastic voice by their friends and family but there is no knowing if they can get that across the mic. This comes up over and over around here and on other VO sites but it just can't be said enough.

Barry, your idea is fantastic! Terry, I look forward to seeing where you go from here. Best of luck!!

The first rule about VoiceOver Club.....we don't talk about VoiceOver Club. That really wouldn't be such a good rule. But really is it a club? or is it a business? Club's pertain to hobbies generally. Though voice work is not a hobby for me, it may be for some others. I think if you nail that down it's a great start. From there the possibilities are absolutely endless for training. Will there be criteria for advancing to higher level of training? This appears to be a shortcoming in alot of the training that's out there. If you can set the bar, you can then raise the standard, and the industry will be better off for it. Good luck with this venture Terry, I think it's a fantastic idea!

Anything else, Phillip? Shameless plugs are great but I am still looking for ideas for the site. :)

That's a great idea, John! I know Erik Sheppard organizes these types of meet-ups once in a while but I would eventually like to do the same through this new program. As always, thanks for the great comments!

Aaaah the VoiceOver Club (Music Up and Under, Light Classical perhaps the Four Seasons by Vivaldi) I'd like to see a masculine yet cozy atmosphere, overstuffed leather chairs, dark wood paneling...an open bar....free hot dogs....and a row of whisper rooms for members who have to knock off a quick audition on the fly. All seriousness aside Terry I would like to see local in person events that get us together for workouts....or to raise money for charity...or just mingle. I miss Bob Bergen's VOX on the ROX get togethers.
