New Memoir By Renowned Singer and Wife of Voiceover King Don LaFontaine Gives Unprecedented Look at Love and Loss
Los Angeles, CA—Finding My Voice: My Journey through Grief to Grace—Living with the Loss of Don LaFontaine, a new book by Nita Whitaker LaFontaine—singer, songwriter, and wife of legendary voiceover king Don LaFontaine—offers a never-before-seen look at what life with Don was really like, and what she endured following his death. Hers is a tale that is as universal as it is personal as she exposes the raw pain that follows any kind of loss.
After twenty years of marriage, three daughters, active careers, and the ups and downs that come with any relationship, nothing could have prepared Whitaker LaFontaine for what she would face after she lost her husband to unexpected complications resulting from cancer treatment. Her acclaimed memoir exposes readers to the pain she suffered, the voice she lost—and eventually recovered—and how she learned how to in a world without her greatest love.
Acclaimed singer and songwriter Michael Buble lauded Finding My Voice as “a testament to both Nita’s spirituality and the deep love that she and Don shared.... I can’t imagine having Nita’s courage and fortitude to show us her journey through these past years. Her strength is an inspiration to all of us and her story tells us that with faith and love we will overcome any challenges that we face.”
Finding My Voice is at once a love story and a painfully raw portrayal of Whitaker LaFontaine’s journey through her crippling grief to her discovery of wholeness. Anyone who has suffered any kind of loss—and even those who haven’t—will find solace and comfort in Nita’s candid and unprecedented account of her life with, and without, Don LaFontaine.
Talented singer, actress, songwriter, Nita Whitaker LaFontaine grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana.
