Kim Dawson passed away in Dallas and I loved her and so does God. The tale of a pioneer.

Kim Dawson, legendary agent, died today. She was 85 years old and a victim of Alzheimers. She was a top model in NYC for many years and then a top agent nationwide based in Dallas. A pioneer. She had the eye for fashion models and knew actors and voice actors. She booked children and animals and every type of act imaginable in her career. She had a wonderful staff and family who supported her always. She was the patron of so many charities and causes. She worked tirelessly for the things she believed in. She was a master agent.

She took me to lunch once, about twenty five years ago. She said, "you are the one I have always wanted in this town." I signed with her that very day. She was fabulous.

The last time I saw her was at a Dallas restaurant. She did not know anyone anymore but I loved seeing her. She was as gorgeous as ever, regal and sure.

Good bye Kim. So many love you. God loves you more.

Bettye,

I'm so sorry to hear this. I never met Kim but heard many great things about her in my time at the agency...truly a special woman! She will be missed.

Beautiful tribute, Bettye. She was a major pioneer of the entertainment industry in Texas and will be missed. But her great work will live on through her wonderful agency.

Those of us who are with The Linicomn Agency (formerly The Elite Agency) wish to let those who are with Kim Dawson know that our hearts and our prayers are with you. No words can fill the void, so remember to fill the emptiness with fond memories and her sage advise. Also, you might want to approach your next audition just as if Kim were in the room watching you--because she may well be...

Bettye,

So sorry to hear of Kim's passing.

I'd just found a couple of her VO demo cd's last week, from when I was in the DFW market.

She's definitely a Dallas legend in the biz.

Please accept my condolences,
Joe
