I knew it would come. The day when writing about the same subjects over and over again becomes a drudgery. I wanted to depart, though just temporarily, from the usual articles I do at work, and try my skill on scriptwriting.
My
scriptwriting friend provided a few ideas on how to bring out the script writer within me. I hope they work:
Dream. Since I spend nearly half of my day dreaming, I might as well dream even more as I aim to become a scriptwriter. I make it a point to spend a couple of hours each day thinking of ways to improve the film script I've long been desiring to write.
Think of earning big. Let's face it. One of the most pampered and generously paid writers in society today are script writers. Without them none of my
favorite shows on TV would be existing now; I'd probably stuck on watching re-runs of Chips. I no longer want to be a mere writer; from now on I am a business-minded writer.
Summon creativity. I keep my creative juice flowing by writing reviews of the films I watch. I even write an alternate script or plot if I find the movie somewhat lame or completely brainless.
Try something different. This is directly related to summoning creativity. The only way to bring out my scriptwriting skill is to write something totally out of my league. So since I've been stuck in doing
essays for shiftless students as a freelance writer for years, I should try writing stories for comics and films.
