I just started trying to update a blog on a regular basis and have been using the Nextcat site to do so? What do you think - keep it there - move it here - or start up my own on my website? Hmmm. It's not all about voiceovers - like right now it's about my trip to New York to help my mom after her knee replacement - and the struggles with understanding how much "help" she is actually going to need after I leave.

And the voiceover news...in between trips to the rehabilitation place and phone calls, I am managing to record for some clients with my laptop studio.

wherever it is -- many people are interested in what you have to say -- so I, for one, would encourage you to keep blogging... personal stuff is always appealing, especially when people know you profesionally.
Put yourself in it, and people will respond to it.

OH...about your query. I like blogs that capture the essence of the PERSON behind the voice.

That's the truth. I sat down to create a news letter with a new program and couldn't stop thinking about the demo updates I need to do, the 2 weeks worth of marketing I am behind in the slight noise in my travel recording chain....blah blah blah...didn't have the patience or time really to sit there and figure out how to use this thing...guess I am behind on THAT NOW too>..

Thanks for the input - finding the time to learn a new piece of software is the issue these days. But I'm with GoDaddy too, so I'll check it out.

Hi Connie -

I think you should maintain a blog attached to your own website. You can set your voiceoveruniverse page to update with your most recent posting as you can see in the bottom left of my page. My WordPress blog was included in my Godaddy hosting account. Setup takes a little knowledge, but posting couldn't be easier.
I call my blog "not just voiceover" because I wanted to write about other things from time to time. There are so many varieties, from the amazing content of Bob Souers Boblog to the real life adventure of Kara Edwards posts. I wouldn't worry about content as long as you keep updating people will stay interested. Plus, getting on other peoples blogrolls helps promote your own blog.
I hope your Mom is alright. I have mine coming up to NY from Dallas this week to visit with a dying relative. It's gonna be a tough week. I'm very thankful to have my brother living nearby in Dallas to help her when needed.
All the best,
