As I sit here at 2 am I wonder why I'm not sleeping yet. Having never been so busy in my life, I enjoy a few quiet moments searching around on this site and appreciating others in this industry that are also happy and successful doing what they do. Voice-overs really are a wonderful career. I look back on the day I decided this was a true passion for me. It's so exciting to see all of the opportunities out there every day - new clients, new adventures, plenty of new words to learn how to say! and more and more people to meet. No matter how busy life gets, if you enjoy what you're doing, it makes everything worth it! I love being a voice talent and a producer and I hope that there are many others out there who enjoy it as much as I do. I started out as a little girl chasing a dream of being in a Disney Movie and when I found out that there was a REAL job out there where I could possibly do that, I fell in love with the work. Thank you to everyone who plays a part in this industry. It's so much fun!

Isn't it funny how we'll work really hard when it's something we truly enjoy doing. If you asked me to stay up till 2 am and work 10 hrs a day outside of this industry I think I'd pass....

Hey Heather!
So...I'm not the ONLY one usually up @ 2am, I see? ;-)
About what you said: DITTO!
I just had a marathon 10-hour session yesterday and LOVED every minute of it!
Compare 10 hours of sitting in a lonely cubicle with 10 hours in front of a mic....yeah...the mic wins hands (or vocal chords!) down!

My pleasure CJ. I really believe that if you want something badly enough, anything is possible! There are many opportunities out there in voice-overs and I wish you the best of luck in finding your niche.

I agree Terry, it's wonderful that cubicle corporate America is far, far away :)

Thanks for the great reminder, Heather, and for those like myself who are still striving to get to a point where this is what we do for a "living" - it's a reminder of what I hope to be able to do in the future - and I will keep trusting God and waiting for his timing for that door to open up! I appreciate your taking the time to share this...

Right back atcha, Costa! It a nice to enjoy what you do and the fact that cubicle corporate America feels as far away as Mars right now, is a wonderful thing! It is a busy industry. Sometimes it gets a little frustrating but then I usually take a moment to think about what I am frustrated with and it's usually comical. I mean, I am sitting in front of a mic, getting paid for it and I am bitching! Ha! After I take a moment like that, I am always very thankful.
