New Phones-IVR-MOH demo!

I have been meaning to update and add to what was a meager demo for this category -- and here it is.

A little of this a little of that...and maybe I can make a very small dent in an area now dominated by very talented women.

I do have a history of doing this.

When I lived in L-A, I was the male English go to guy for a company headquartered in Glendale. I'm not sure what the company did at its sprawling offices, but tucked in the back, was a small room, jammed with outdated… Continue

A significant "Tide of Tears" update

Update -- Tide of Tears snared a "best cinematography award at the NY festival.

See update below.

There is some news about the documentary film "Tide of Tears: The Collapse of the Cajun Coast", a film about the loss of the Louisiana bayous and the natural and political forces that have created the current situation. I first wrote about it here on Voiceover Universe in August.

It's a visually beautiful film filled with interesting characters and disturbing… Continue

New Radio Imaging Demo

I have just completed work on a brand new radio imaging demo -- and thanks to all of my friends who offered help in choosing the right way to stack it and what to include and what to leave out.

New demos!!

I have just added new versions of my two commercials demos and a new narration demo to integrate some new material.
It's a bit daunting because I have parked my demos on quite a few internet sites, each of which has somewhat different protocols.
Now my VU page is up to date along with my personal website and all the sites around the world.
OK seekers -- come and get me!!!

You can help get a documentary (which I narrated ) funded

I am the narrator on a project, (referenced in a previous post) which is now up for funding -- and you can help the producer, Dallas based Stephanie Kovac, in her quest.

The project is Tide of Tears, www.tideoftears.com about the loss of the Louisiana Bayous and the underlying culture... Mostly caused by man.

Now American Express' Members Project is holding a public poll for projects about "making a difference in the world."

American Express is providing $2.5… Continue

Earthquake in L-A!!!

There has been a 5.8 magnitude earthquake noontime in Southern California.

Felt in L-A and all the wat south to San Diego... centered in Chino Hills.

No reports of damage or injuries.

As someone who lived in Hollywood and was awakened by the Northridge quake, I can relate -- although this one was not nearly as powerful.

People reported a sharp jolt that lasted up to 30 seconds.

Hope all of our Socal friends are OK.

If you have never been in the middle of one of… Continue

I have now completed voice tracks on two Narration projects...

I am currently working two narration projects.

The first is a documentary narration on the grim ecology of the Louisiana Bayous.

I am about halfway through the painstaking narration tracks for this project, working to match my reads to the producer's vision. So far, so good. But pronouncing those Cajun names is an acquired skill. Not exactly like French.

The second project is a narration of a documentary for "Angel Faces", a non-profit organization that "Brings out the inner… Continue

My home studio issues

I have set up a good working home studio -- but there are some particular problems.

The studio is part of a storage room, off a sun room on the South side of my home in Rockland county, New York. That's the good side, since my neighboors to the North are in the midst of a massive construction project to completely redo their front yard -- complete with a retaining wall constructed of boulders. (loud)

The first issue is that there is a working hot tub 20 paces away from the studio… Continue
