Life Is Too Short

Life is too short to let the economy or any other excuse stop you from achieving your goals. The reality is that the economy is going to continue to move through its cycles and plenty of challenges will present themselves in an effort to distract you along the way of reaching your goals. What you need is a game plan and a strategy for dealing with the challenges. If you look at successful people you admire, they are not successful because they never had a plan or encountered a challenge, they… Continue

On 2010 VO Market Forecasts:

Happy New Year to everyone.

I guess this touches on the questions on VO Market trend "forecasts" seminars, as well as the few comments made on the disappointment of the new CBS News liners. I've stood on the elevator twice with Morgan Freeman on the way up to Pomann Sound; Didn't need to say a thing; you could feel the iconic presence of this meteoric rise of theatrical cinema space. It's Ok to Give In, Not Ok To Give Up!

One of the biggest misconceptions about the voice over industry that I have come across is that it is easy to be a full time voice over artist. Workin' On It

The news keeps getting worse and worse, cuts to jobs, companies laying off, school budgets destroyed. It's hard enough to keep your head when all about you are losing theirs! So where does that leave your VO career? It's been slower, for sure. But keeping several irons in the fire is the best way to insulate yourself from this ravaged economy.

Stay away from the downer nay sayer doomsday talkers. Take it from me a longtime voiceover pro.

Stay away from the doomsday newscasts talking of gloom and no money and bankruptcies and out of work people. I have stopped listening to most of the network newscasts about business concerns. While we know this exists (always in every country in every year) and car dealers need to sell more cars and clothing stores are giving deep discounts, our business is advertising. We do well in hard times. Corporations need us for training. We are doing public service announcements. We are a part of the… Continue
