Radio People..do you Remember?

Remember those un-creative Christmas greetings we all had to read about this time of the year? "The staff and Management would like to wish you and yours..bla...bla...bla" I remember doing 40 or 50x15 of those over a week. Ya gotta love the sales guys.

This year a client of mine, stepped outside the local radio scene. Came to me wanting something new and asked me what I could come up with. So here's what I came up with for him...by the way he bought it... YOU THOUGHTS ARE WELCOME…

Murder Mystery Dinner

This weekend I'll be performing in a murder mystery dinner gig for a birthday party at a nearby restaurant. I am typecast as a Thug. It's produced by a company in Hollywood Ca called Sparko and they are a lot of fun.

Back on it!!!

After my last Animation VO class, I have been doing NOTHING! I know... other than work related recordings, I haven't done anything outside of it.

I will start a new Workshop group the second week of January at The Voice Caster in Burbank! That should jump start the year and get me motivated to MOVE IT!!! = )

Finally!!! The Booth is finished!

OK, gang, here's the skinny. I got the booth finished today, just in time for a big session this weekend for the Rose Parade.

DAWBOX makes excellent plans, easy to follow, and very customizable with a little imagination. Now I know my taste is not everyones, but by way of explanation; I was too young to appreciate the sixties when I was in them, so I am re-creating them in my booth. (It's all the wife will let me do, I am allowed one lava lamp in the rest of the house.) Take a look,… Continue

LADIE MO$T KEEPS IT IN THE "FAM."

When I first heard Ladie Mo$t on the radio voicing a night club spot I said, "Who in the world is that," and I say this in a good way. Now-a-days some people just don't hit home runs when selling a product, but… Continue

THE NEW VOICES.COM

Good morning! I just wanted to hear some feedback on the new voices.com. I like parts of it. Other parts appear to be a little confusing but that may just be the newness of it. Is newness even a word? :)

Bi Coastal? help a brother out!

Hey I would love some information from those of you who are repped by agents on both coasts, for work on both coasts. Ive been repped by Abrams in NYC for the past four years. WHile I like them very much I have had moments of questioning if they are the right place for me due to the lack of auditions from time to time. Anyway I recently switched time slots at WXRK, Im on 9a-2pm which makes it pretty tough to get out an audition with any sort of frequency. So my idea was to expand to the West… Continue

ANOTHER WEEK, ANOTHER SCAM

You've seen these before. It's the old, "I'll wire you $3000 and you wire me my share of $2000". They always make it look like they're the middle man between you and their client. They send you fake scripts of some kind and appear to be fairly legit but of course, they're not. This one came from an audition I won on voices.com! So, if you hear from this person, Stay away! Here's some advice for some of you newer talents out there. If they refuse to use PayPal or Alert Pay, that is an immediate… Continue

Presentation/Demo level of a game I just finished

Hey all!

Not sure if I'm posting this in the correct spot but I wanted to share a video of a demo/presentation level of a game I just finished.

I was checking the stats of my website when I saw that a referring site was youtube. I knew I have never posted anything there so I checked it out. Low and behold my client posted this and even mentions my name and included my website! How sweet was that?!!!

Anyway.... I had loads of fun doing this. It's almost a crime… Continue

Women in Movie Trailers

Dear Friends,

There's been much talk of who will fill the void of our late friend, Don LaFontaine. Variety.com has speculated that it may be time for women to come to the fore and start kicking some butt in this arena.

I'm all for that and am also interested to hear which new male voices will rise to the occasion in this time of flux.

While honouring Don and his legacy is paramount, he would want us to embrace this change as he himself supported the idea of… Continue

Recording meaningful work

We often get to record jobs we really enjoy, that make us very happy for many reasons. But every once in a while, we get to record something really meaningful, and it makes all the journey so worth it!

This week-end I recorded several voices for the Ellis Island museum Tour and the Statue of Liberty tour.

When I went to New York a few years ago, this was the highlight of the trip. I never imagined the flow of emotions that could develop in me while on the ferry to the… Continue

I have a new LOGO and I'm so freakin' excited!!!

This is a LONG time coming.......but i finally updated my logo. The last one served me well but was just too juvenile for my current sound and style and it was time for a new one! It was done by a wonderful artist and FELLOW VO TALENT Nikki Saco. I gave Nikki a few ideas and she totally nailed it!! She provided me with not only basic logo stuff for my website but also versions for new business cards, banner ad, CD cover, postcards and more. If you're in need… Continue
