Profile Information

I WORK IN THE VOICE OVER INDUSTRY AS A(N)
Voice Actor, Copy Writer, Studio Engineer, Creative Director, Voiceover Coach, Vocal Coach
HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY VOICE OVER EXPERIENCE
As a high school student, Peter K. O’Connell garnered strange looks from his parents as they passed by his room when he would practice his announcing skills by reading magazine advertisement copy out loud. While they might have expected to hear a record from Bruce Springsteen, Peter’s parents got Ed McMahon instead.

The practice paid off for this 27+ year voice over talent from Upstate New York who has lent his voice to hundreds of commercials, narrations and broadcast imaging projects across the United States and internationally including England, Ireland, Switzerland and Canada.

Peter is President of audio’connell Voice Over Talent (www.audioconnell.com), a professional voiceover service. Peter’s multi-faceted voiceover abilities have allowed him to share many vocal styles with his clients; from soft-sell to hard sell, everyman to character voices of every shape, size and species.

Some of Peter O’Connell’s professional voiceover credits include productions for the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), Shell Oil, Starz Cable Channel, New Jersey Alliance and New Jersey Tourism, J. Walter Thompson Advertising (JWT), 2K Games, Cleveland Browns, Tops Friendly Markets, Highlights Magazine, Bacardi Rum, Harlequin Enterprises, Zaycon Foods, First Choice Power, Bank of Tuscaloosa, Crosby Stills & Nash, Fashion Outlet Mall, Junior Chamber International, Peek N’ Peak Resort and Spa, Devaweb and The Advertising Club of Buffalo.

Peter has also written an e-book entitled The Voice Over Entrance Exam (www.voiceoverentranceexam.com). The book examines the business and performance realities of becoming a voice over talent and maintaining a career among a spirited field of established professionals.

Peter has served in leadership roles on numerous boards and has received many distinguished honors for his numerous achievements in the areas of broadcasting, sales, marketing and community service.

He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio and Television Communication from the University of Dayton (OH). A pathetic (yet dedicated) golfer, Peter lives in Upstate New York with his wife and children.

My thought as I think about this picture is "I think men grow hair faster as they get older".

I don't recall whiskers coming in this fast in the past, but I've never kept a whisker-growing diary like this before.

But beyond the facial hair is OVER $200.00 donated to my efforts! You people are insane and in the BEST possible…

Truth is this was a simple idea that I should have caught on to long ago but last week is when inspiration hit. My hope now is to give you an idea that you can customize to hopefully benefit your business.

I graduated from the University of Dayton in 1986 which didn’t seem like a long time ago at the time.

national voiceover month video

Unfortunately for my pal Dave Courvoisier, he answered the phone last week.

I happened to be on the other end because I had an idea which involved his baby – National Voiceover Month. It struck me that with all the things that went on in the voice over world in September, maybe a video should be created to at least attempt to capture the sense of the… Continue

September is National Voice Over Month

Not to be too dramatic about it, but it’s about damn time.

Almost every group, organization and/or species has a week or month named in honor of them. Often times it sounds like a joke when you hear some of their names and so too may the impression here now for some, but it’s not.

My friend and fellow Voice Over Talent Dave Courvoisier kinda mentioned the idea in… Continue

Hi Peter!

How's it going!?!?! The new year kickin' it up for you???

I know you’ve been a member of Voiceover Universe for some time, but I wanted to introduce one of our groups to you.

I hope you'll check out and join a group called MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT. It's a group dedicated to discussing ways we can market ourselves - what works; what doesn't. You’ll find some very interesting ideas and concepts there! And we would appreciate your input. Click here for the link: MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT!

Thanks for your time! I trust our paths will cross soon again!
