Hello Will Lyman. I clicked on the Friend box to say thank you in an unexpected way for leading me to this website. You have been at the top of my shortlist of narrators since I first heard your work on Frontline. Imagine my surprise when I stumbled onto a web page that included my name with yours in complimentary terms. At the time I didn't know much about you except for Frontline and from a close buddy Stu Daley an ex NBC staff announcer and freelancer. He praised you highly. I Googled your name and I am honored to be on this website. By the way, your English is better than decent. It's a pleasure to listen to you.
I know you’ve been a member of Voiceover Universe for some time, but I wanted to introduce one of our groups to you.
We're looking for answers! Should you be in a Pay-To-Play site? Do you need an agent? How can you maximize your current client relationships? How do you find your niche?
I hope you'll check out and join a group called MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT. It's a group dedicated to discussing ways we can market ourselves - what works; what doesn't. Thanks for your time! I trust our paths will cross soon!
Will- Documentary VO is what I want most to do. I believe yours is the quintessential documentary voice. And, since I don't have your voice, I'll need all the knowledge, ideas and help I can find. In the meantime, I find inspiration in what you have done. Would be honored if, at some point, I had the chance to correspond/chat with you. Thanks and best wishes.
Hey Will... don't want to sound like a sycophant, but you are one of very few people who've inspired me throughout my career in the v/o world. I was captivated by the sound you delivered the first time I heard you back in 1995 on a Discovery Channel documentary about air disasters when I was in Hong Kong as a v/o for the STAR TV Network.
I'm glad I found ya in this big voice-over universe.
