Profile Information

I WORK IN THE VOICE OVER INDUSTRY AS A(N)
Voice Actor
HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY VOICE OVER EXPERIENCE
I've been working in and around radio/VO since 1987. Some production, on air talent, some VO. Seriously pursuing VO as a career for the last year.

A few details: I'm an avid scuba diver, can cook, have a ridiculous collection of Lava Lamps, (I'm up to 35!), like auto racing, love football, can juggle, play a little guitar, and have a cat. I once saved a village from a swarm of fire ants armed only with a canteen and a Swiss Army Knife. I've been in an earthquake, a hurricane, a flood, a volcanic eruption, a waterspout, and a tornado. I'm keeping my eye out for a plague of locusts. Actor, DJ, skydiver, bullrider, airplane mechanic, lifeguard, writer, marine engineer, and lover of gadgets. I've tried out for Survivor seven times, ( I think they're afraid of me!), caught a 13 pound lobster, and lived at the South Pole. I served for 11 years in the United States Navy and was born in Dallas Texas.

Any questions?
RECENTLY BOOKED PROJECTS
I am the voice of the 2009 Rose Parade Floats Audio Tour, Dale Jr's Hammerhead Entertainment, and I voice spots for Pool World in VT.
VOICE DESCRIPTION
I have a nice vocal range, do several dialects, have several character voices, a few celebrity voices, and have nice warm narration voice.

Russian, Italian, English, Irish, Scottish, US Southern, Hungarian, Austrailian

Just North American English, or something close to it, anyway. My Texan sometimes appears at inopportune times.

Finally!!! The Booth is finished!

OK, gang, here's the skinny. I got the booth finished today, just in time for a big session this weekend for the Rose Parade.

Now I know my taste is not everyones, but by way of explanation; I was too young to appreciate the sixties when I was in them, so I am re-creating them in my booth. (It's all the wife will let me do, I am allowed one lava lamp in the rest of the house.) Take a look, I think it's rather sporty. I did the walls in red wedge foam tiles, the door and ceiling in red pyramid,… Continue

Part 3 of the Booth Build

First, I want everyone to go to my 4th demo, it'll give you an idea of why I built this beastie! Evidently, my neighbors feel that they have a near fatal leaf problem, because I hear this at least 3 times a week!

OK, I got all the pieces to the apartment, hauled them up the stairs, (It's amazing how much wood and carpet weigh!), and into the spare bedroom. I guess I can't really call it that anymore, now it's the studio!

Anyway, the sides are 7 ft. high, so I had to turn them on their sides to… Continue

More booth building...(Part 2)

OK, a few days off, I got the booth carpeted, and most of it moved into place. I'm back on das boot, so I am stymied till Monday morning. I SHOULD have it at least installed next week!

I feel like a cool kid now for sure! Check my photos for the visual tale!

Best if you go to the album, they play in order that way!

Good Reads,

TJ

I had a few days...(Booth Build part 1)

..So, in addition to studying and working with my acting, I started a booth. I did not start taking pictures till I had the bottom built, but I think the narrative thread is still there. I'll post a few more as I move it further along. I got some plans from DAWBOX, but I have modified them quite a bit. They were an excellent springboard, though, and well worth the 50 bucks.

Mine is 4x6', has a window on the right side, will be carpeted, (I have a burgundy carpet piece, but I may go in a little… Continue

Randy's Book Signing

For those of you who may have missed it, Randy Thomas had a book signing last night. Very cool lady, and a neat event, held at Barnes & Noble at the Grove, here in Los Angeles. Several of the LA VO stars were there, and it lasted about two hours.

The book is excellent, with a companion CD.

There was a Q&A session, followed by the signing, and everyone hung out and chatted for a bit after that.

Joe Cip was there, fresh off his Emmy gig, and addressed the assembled throng briefly.

Bott… Continue

TJ, could you email me directly? Easier that way.
I'm swamped for the next two weeks with a UCB intensive and VO stuff. Mid-November looks good.
Could you please send me a link or samples of your work? This way I can get an idea of your style, which direction I'd like to go with these photos, whether I need to hire my make-up artist, etc.

Best,
Catherine

Hey TJ, glad you like the hat! You're wife has good taste and knows a fashion statement when she sees one. I've had a few people want to see my equipment chain, there's not much to see...Microphone...Avalon Compressor...Digi-003...that's about it. Not that exciting.
As far as mentoring you, thanks for the vote of confidence, I'm having a hard enough time maintaining a living myself. My suggestion is to find a manager...there are a few out there that would be willing to take you on.
Celia Siegel in Minneapolis, Jonna Gottlieb in NYC...there's another up in Portland.
