HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY VOICE OVER EXPERIENCE: I have been in the Radio business for almost 15-years, and in that time I have written, voiced, and produced hundreds of commercials, event promos, station imaging liners, and I have done play-by-play sports and hosted numerous live morning shows.

Top Pay-To-Play Sites

For somebody like me who is just starting out in the VO biz, as far as outside of my "Radio" environment, I am faced with the questions of how and where to start. At first glance it looks like there are some great websites where talent can post profiles and audition for jobs, and there are welcoming communities like right here at VU, but then suddenly the smoke clears and it looks as if some of these "pay to play" sites may not be the answer I was looking for.

I offer a super deal regarding demo eval if you take one of my classes too, but this is NOT a come on to sell you anything. Demos can be such a tough sell because no one can put everything on every demo and keep it a minute and a half max.
So first by categorizing into separate types of demos, like commercials, characters, impersonations, accents or dialects, promos etc that's a start. What my class teaches are the accents, dialects, character and voice types that are asked for....and I've been casting and doing voices for decade so I've seen the patterns.

I'm a Casting Director and experienced actor (4 octave range) for Video Games and more. It's a unique genre, unlike any other that requires a lot of differentiation in voices because there are so many parts with so few lines each. It requires a huge vocal repertoire. If you feel you're experienced as a voice actor with a lot of diverse and useable characters, and you can hit the ground running, you can go to my Talent Assessment page.
