I WORK IN THE VOICE OVER INDUSTRY AS A(N)
Voice Actor
HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY VOICE OVER EXPERIENCE
From a very early age, I have wanted to voice in cartoons, and lemme tell you, there's no shortage of characters at the dinner table when I'm eating! My family know how determined I am, and happily take it in their stride. :) My favourite animation voice artists include: Jim Cummings, Nancy Cartwright, E.G. Daily, Will Friedle, Tom Kane, and John Ratzenberger.

In the past I have worked with a company called 'Matinee Sound And Vision" recording educational packages for children in Quatar, and Africa, who are learning to speak English. I am auditioning for the part of a 6-7 year old boy this Thursday at the same company. :) I am an official Podcaster at a Harry Potter fan site, and read out loads of stories there, helping others with their own podcasts.

I would gladly take up any voice over project if it came along, as I am determined to make it in the business!

21/07/08 Day One: Making My Mark, Training: No Thanks and 'Kim Possible' fun!

Posted on July 21, 2008 at 12:30pm 1 Comment

First of all, I would like to thank everyone for being so supportive.

Your words really help me on my way to achieving what I want to do. I'm going to email you Mike for advice on voice overs and the like. I've decided that I'm not going to go on that training day because earlier today, I sent an email to A1vOX training and the woman I spoke to over the phone told me the prices and I would have fallen over but I was sitting down. :) £730 is a lot of money. However, I really… Continue

21/07/08 The First Stages: That will hopefully lead to my voice over career

Posted on July 20, 2008 at 6:00pm 4 Comments

Tommorrow morning, I'm going to ring up 'Matinee Sound And Vision', and ask them if they know of any more contacts in the UK for voice artists. I want to let them know how enthusiastic and desperate I am to do this, but obviously not in a freaky way, I don't want to scare them! :) I'm sure I'm not the only person on this site who feels it, but there's a real burning desire/impatience to go out there and make things happen. I saw a quote on someone's voice over page that was really good. It went… Continue

19/07/08 Awaiting My Package.......... and the power of the Blue Snowball!

Posted on July 19, 2008 at 6:00am 4 Comments

Yesterday, I ordered a file from A1Vox, the voice over training company based in London. I eagerly await an information pack, so I can book a day or two with them in the studio. I've spoken to Mum about it, who saw their website and backed me up 100%. When's the best time to voice train, does anyone know? I want to do it soon, but Mum was thinking about trying during the Christmas holidays, yet I don't think I can wait that long! :)

I found the page 'Rick's Stickies' yesterday, and… Continue

18/07/08 Researching into demos.....................wishing I was in L.A, and reading voice over guides!!

Posted on July 18, 2008 at 10:30am 3 Comments

Today I have been researching demos, and pouting that I don't live in L.A. I feel so determined to move there, allowing me to go circling things in newspapers, and finding an agent................. but no, I have to slow down, and relax. These things don't happen overnight. I'm doing a Creative Writing course at University, and am on the verge of taking my second year.

I'll go to America, but after I've got my degree. I'm only 19, I have time to do things. I'm sure I am not the only… Continue

Hi Rachel,
I see that use Audacity? How do you like it? I'm frustrated with Pro Tools 8. I was also wondering if you can use the MBox2 with Audacity?

Like you, my dream was to voice cartoon characters. I ended up in radio putting all my voices to work in commercials. I'd still love to get out of radio to do voices full time. i am holding on to the dream. so make your moves now while you are young...

Hi Rachel,

I really like the snowball. First of all, the USB connection cuts down on the amount of equipment I need because it plugs straight into my computer. Secondly, the quality is exceptional for the low price of about $150.00. I have used it many times for auditions and for a few jobs too.
