I have found Skype is an excellent phone patch, and I've also got VOIP running in the office and on the studio computer, so people can just call in (local call) and it's all sent through Pro Tools and the VOIP softphone - cost - bugger all :)

Same here.....no agent = $'s aren't fixed......and there's a few production houses out there who undercut the rest to get the volume, as opposed to the quality - and unfortunately all the smaller operators choose them because it's cost efficient.
