Duane,
Yep, I always PAD on the mic first as it's a lot easier to get to than the one of the back of the interface - and a lot easier to remember. It turns out, that what worked out best for me was PADding AND backing up a step.
Thanks for confirm…
HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY VOICE OVER EXPERIENCE
Between having received my Bachelors in Electrical Engineer from Stevens Institute of Technology and having been in the Tech Support industry (from both the desktop and software support sides) for over 18 years, I'm well versed in all fields technological.
I've got 30+ years of experience in music and 20+ years in theater that has helped build my vocal strength and dexterity. This background has allowed me to be able to make the potentially scary world of computers and IT less so to those not familiar with it.

Hi Mike: In honor of your birthday, I sat down and wrote you a
song. Here are the lyrics . . . .”This is your Birthday Song,
It isn’t very long . . . “
I know you’ve been a member of Voiceover Universe for some time, but I wanted to introduce one of our groups to you.
I hope you'll check out and join a group called MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT. It's a group dedicated to discussing ways we can market ourselves - what works; what doesn't. You’ll find some very interesting ideas and concepts there! And we would appreciate your input. Click here for the link: MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT!
Thanks for your time! I trust our paths will cross soon!
Mike
You are AWESOME!
Thanks for the quick response. I will follow your advice and contact Jim.
Would you suggest a Studio Projects C3 for me with the MBOX 2 just to improve the quality a little.
I know I can by without an additional pre-amp - but I wanted to improve the quality a little.....
Thanks SO much for the suggestions.
Thanks for the info...
You could always use SC and a "bridge" (like outofhear), so your client hooks up isdn and you're on SC. Of course, it'll cost ya about $80 or so... don't know exactly, but if it's a recurring gig or a large paying one it could justify the cost.
I'm having a senior moment, did I ever respond to you re your Source Connect question? I hope so... let me know... I don't want to leave you hangin'...
