What's going on in RADIO?

With all the Clear Channel cuts last week, or as I call it "Clear Cutting" you are bound to know someone who lost there job. I did. The best PD I ever had lost his job last week in Colorado Springs. People say it's the economy but it just reminds me of how radio has become more and more unfair. I've been out for just over 2 years now and I'm very happy these days yet sadden when I hear of another friend getting the ax just because of "the economy".

Two years ago today my life changed forever.

One this day two years ago I lost my morning show gig. One of those pull you out in the middle of the show and flip the station while they are telling you that your services are no longer needed. At the time I was crushed. I had built up a name for myself in the country format in my hometown of Kansas City. A ten year career in broadcasting over.

I got my first agent...YES!!!

You know the first time you get an agent you want to scream and shout! And if you know they are a REALLY GOOD ONE, You really want to yell. Except that's bad for the voice so I had just better type.

For any of you that are looking for your first agent, do your homework. I have been searching for 18 months for the perfect fit for me. I finally found it in Atlanta and I couldn't be happier!

Got that Imaging Bug and starting to do something about it.

Let's see next January I will have been away from radio 2 years. That was my career for 10. I always felt like I knew it so well and that I should be able to be an IMAGING VOICE!

However up until now not much has come my way. My bread and sometimes butter is in Commercial work.
