First off, Thank You to everyone who commented on my last blog post.Your words are very kind and very warm and I'm happy to have soo much support from everyone in this industry. ^_^

So Yesterday was part two of my Weekend Voice Acting Workshop, this time it was commercials with Bill Holms (who, by the way, is an AMAZING person/director/producer)... go see his film "Stump the Band" ^_^

Anyways, thanks to him.. I was able to find a niche. It turns out I've got… Continue

September 27th, 2008 - A call for help

So, I'm not really feeling all that good today.

I just finished a One Day workshop with Bob Bergen and I don't think I've ever felt this unsure about myself in all my time working towards becoming a Voice Actor.

Today, I was faced with the reality that all I have are wacky, silly voices and Impersonations ... no real substance. In fact.. I was faced with the fact that I have no real substance at all.

All I am are the wacky voices and impressions. In both of the… Continue

First off, a huge thank you to everyone who gave responses to my first (and previous) blog post. Your advice and warm wishes were all greatly appreciated.

I think writing in this on a continual basis will definitely keep my mind on the Voice Acting community and keep me involved with this website. I should keep myself constantly writing in this blog, even if it's something insignificant, so that I'm always thinking about my self, my place, and my future in the Voice Acting… Continue

August 25th, 2008 - My Current Situation (and thoughts on VO Expenses)

Posted on August 25, 2008 at 2:30pm 3 Comments

So I have my Voice-Over Universe account. I'm pretty glad I have it.

I'm really happy that so many people have addded me as their friend (and I'm thankful for all the friends I made at VOICE 2008)

I hope I get many more comments, each new one makes me feel all that more special and appreciated ^__^

I still have yet to go through all the training material I recieved at VOICE (I know, shame on me). Even though I have all this free time now (I ended up losing my… Continue

Hi Justin!

I know you’ve been a member of Voiceover Universe for some time, but I wanted to introduce one of our groups to you.

I hope you'll check out and join a group called MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT. It's a group dedicated to discussing ways we can market ourselves - what works; what doesn't. You’ll find some very interesting ideas and concepts there! And we would appreciate your input. Click here for the link: MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT!

Thanks for your time! I trust our paths will cross soon!

Best to ya!

Hi Justin,
From the first night of VOICE 2008 when you were walking around with the note pinned to your shirt--what did it say? "I'm shy, be my friend...etc."? And ESPECIALLY when you posed your question to the panel with Bob Bergen and everyone responded to the phrase - "Would an agent take me, I'm a nobody in VO" -- maybe that wasn't easy for you to hear while you were in the spotlight, but dude!! So many of the rest of us needed to hear it and you put it into words that drew the best out of the speakers. Bravo! Thanks for laying your head on the chopping block :) I hope you know how helpful that was.
Now get out there and put your voice to work, you'll have a ball, get some experience and next year -- we'll all be eager to see how our "rookie of the year" is doing. All the best, ~Sonnie
