DIALECTS, Character voices and vocal impersonations
Thanks for the "character" advice Jim. That sounds great... makes such good sense. I will definitely try the recording to disc method. Will let you know how it turns out.
BTW, Congrats on the new clients & Ben Stein voice gig. Ciao! Cathi
Thanks very much Jim. I continue to work on improving my skills. I've been working on an Australian character but seem to mix it up with my "southern" character. Do you have professional advice on how to keep characters separate?? Cathi
Hi, Jim!
Wow, a couple of Chippewa Valley folk running into each other here on the web! Good ear - no, I'm not from around here. From the Twin Cities originally - which, as you know isn't so far in distance but is quite a distance in dialect somehow. Your demos are amazing - thanks for listening to mine.
Good luck!
-Tess
Jim . . thank you for your kind comment. Listened to your voices--you nailed 'em! You sound like you have great fun doing these . . .
Thanks again,
Jerry
Hey, Jim! Funny that you just posted that comment--I posted a sketch just now! I don't have a demo just yet, but I did an event with Pat Fraley this past weekend called Accent on Dialects, so I posted a sketch from that. Hopefully more to come! Let me know if you check it out, and I'll keep you posted on the website :)
P.S. Listened to your audio--sounds great!! Keep it up, and I wish you good luck in all you do
Hey there!
Thanks so much for listening and your positive feedback. It helps!
I am doing very well and very excited about this work. I can't wait to do
more characters.
Jim you are so sweet and thanks ever so much for posting that on my page. It's hilarious how many people think they're qualified to hit the ground running and most can't even follow directions with what I've posted here. they're still telling me to call them and to go listen to their youtube or online demos etc. Makes me want to retire early. Heh heh
Again hope you get your check soon and thanks for the great testimonial. If I need to, could I ever use it on a future announcement if it ever comes up?
