I know you’ve been a member of Voiceover Universe for some time, but I wanted to introduce one of our groups to you.
I hope you'll check out and join a group called MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT. It's a group dedicated to discussing ways we can market ourselves - what works; what doesn't. You’ll find some very interesting ideas and concepts there! And we would appreciate your input. Click here for the link: MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT!
Thanks for your time! I trust our paths will cross soon!
Jay,
I’d like to invite you to join a group I’ve started called “Voices of Colors.” There members offer information and advise each other on navigating this business as people of color. Just go to "forum" (up top), then to "groups," then join "Voices of Colors." Looking forward to hearing of your experiences.

nice job on the demo ... im new to this too... but that sounds like you've been doing this for a little while .. it sounded like you were reading on the last one .. but hey thats just my opinion ... great job
Hey, Jay - Saw your great question and all the wonderful advice everyone here in this forum so generously posted. Before you begin what could become a very substantial investment, let me offer you something that will ensure you do not spend money goin' in circles, no carts before horses - you need it all explained quickly and easily with a plan set out for you that includes a budget.
Before you spend a DIME on classes, buy the "YOUR VOICE OVER BUSINESS" mp3 overview from the store section of braintracksaudio.com
For $49, it is nearly 2 hours of overview on the VO business, details the map of what's necessary in the areas of education, demo (sales tool), marketing (web site/graphic branding), and home equipment, what you should plan to budget for all of that, the state of VO today, why there's so much more to VO than the genetic quality of one's sound, what makes a demo great, samples of demos that are not great and explanations as to why they might be OK but are not competitive, how you will be able to get yourself her own work (so cool - that never used to be possible), etc...and all for about 15% of the cost of what it would take to explain that in privates...Best of luck to you! And welcome to the community. Cheers, Nancy
