Hi Jason! How are you today? I know, I know, it's been a very long time since we touched base and I got caught up in other matters. But I'm still strong in VO and still very strong in animation. And that's something else I'd like to talk about if you have a moment.
I'm trying to help my LA voice friend Michelle Ann Dunphy spread news about an upcoming animation voiceover workshop in Dallas taught by Richard Horvitz.
Would you be interested in attending? Or do you know other Dallas voice talent who'd like to explore animation?
The best teachers in animation voice acting are from LA, my opinion anyway. At the very bottom there are some links about Mr. Horvitz and his career.
Michelle's newletter is below and there are some cool bonuses included if you're interested or again, if you know any other Dallas talent who would like to attend this awesome workshop it would help us so much. Please let them know about it.
I definitely plan to be there and I hope to see you there too.
Take care!
Hi Talented Voice Actors!
We are getting close to the registration deadline for Richard Horvitz's Animation Voiceover Workshop in Dallas, Texas. And we are still a few students shy of what we need to fill out this class and make it happen! So, please encourage your friends, spread the word! Remember, for every friend you refer, you get $25 off the total cost of class! Just make sure they mention your name when they send in their e-mail sign up. ALSO, as an added bonus, Voices.com will provide a premium 1 year membership that will be raffled off amongst those attending the class! That's a $300 value.” E-mail Michelle for info: richardhorvitzclasses@gmail.com
Richard’s career as a successful voice over actor includes hit shows such as The Angry Beavers (Daggett), Invader Zim (Zim), the Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy (Billy), Ben Ten (Grey Matter) and many, many more, including award winning video games such as Psychonaughts, Ratchett & Clank, and Destroy All Humans.
In his weekend workshops, Richard will help students learn to “play pretend” and to approach their copy in a fun and more instinctive way. Richard has been teaching privately for 10 years, as well as having taught voice over for animation at Cal State Northridge. Class size is kept intimate to ensure that everyone gets adequate time at the mic.
Richard's class schedule for 2009:
New York - September 19th & 20th
San Diego - October 10th & 11th
Dallas - November 14th & 15th
Weekend workshops will run Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with an hour for lunch each day. The total cost is $600 for both days. A non-refundable deposit of $150 is required to secure your place in class.
Spots are available on first come, first serve basis. Spots will be held for 2 weeks before receiving your deposit. If your deposit is not received within that time, your spot will be given to the next person on the list. Spots in the classes are limited, so it's best to e-mail right away. The remaining amount of $450 will be due two weeks before the workshop weekend. Payment methods include cash or check. Paypal can be arranged, but there is a processing fee.
If you are interested in signing up, please send an email to this email address (richardhorvitzclasses@gmail.com) with the Subject Line "CITY - NAME SIGN UP". Michelle Ann Dunphy
Here are just a few sites with information about Richard Horvitz and the on going projects he’s voiced.
You have some great stuff going on! I saw you were in Ft Worth. We should definitely chat sometime. Is your studio home based or do you have a "store front" somewhere?
Very nice demo. I know the galaxy awaits your mothership!
Wait for mine to clear the stargate and we can party at the Obi Wan bar together.
Live lively and prosper!
