Your Voice...It's Not Necessarily Your Voice

I hesitated to write this blog, but then I thought...I can't be the only one.

As I was putting together a new demo I ran into a real awakening. Piece by piece, I thoughtfully decided what went where. A Mentor..A scary question

It occurred to me while reading some advice on advancing the VO career, that not only are acting classes, coaching, practice, marketing, and all of the other things essential to forward motion. The other piece is the mentor. An experienced talent who has been there done that. Knows the ins and outs. Freely gives honest advice, no matter how brutally honest it may be. Well, it's finally time for the next step

As we all do, I struggle from time to time and wonder: What is it that is keeping me from getting over the hump? I am a constant study and I look and listen with every piece of advice I get. I know that having "the voice" is just not enough. So, with "the voice" and some experience, it is NOW time for the next step. Acting and Improv!
