I know you’ve been a member of Voiceover Universe for some time, but I wanted to introduce one of our groups to you.
I hope you'll check out and join a group called MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT. It's a group dedicated to discussing ways we can market ourselves - what works; what doesn't. You’ll find some very interesting ideas and concepts there! And we would appreciate your input. Click here for the link: MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT!
Thanks for your time! I trust our paths will cross soon!

Ella, no apology needed! Yes the way we get the same results often times varies as to how we arrive at the solution.
In the USA, Chicago is the narrative and industrial capitol of the world. Forty per cent of the world's industries have headquarters in Chicago. LA seems to be the hot spot, with almost no agency accepting one without a promo demo or background in promos. According to my voice coach Kate McClanaghan of Sound Advice who has recording studios in both Chicago and LA, the high end agencies are either in LA or NY. The midwest is the industrial heart of the USA. Thanks though to ISDN and Source Connect the world is shrinking as to where one needs to be located. Good talking with you and I mean that.
Ella, don't take me wrong I like and love to work in studios. What you may not know is that while I live in a very modern college community of about 130,000 people there are limited studios with ISDN to work with. In fact I had to travel 200 miles to Minneapolis to cut the Time Warner spot. That's because we could not find any ISDN facilities any closer. I offered to use my Source Connect and patch to an ISDN system but the engineer a very young man was skeptical. (See Joe Cipriano's episode 6)
If I had my choice I would do most of my work in a studio, that's if they would have me. Thanks for your comments, its good to talk with a seasoned professional such as yourself.
P.S.: As far as other work goes, lets see...a major Defense contractor in the U.S., Rockwell Collins, Sears, Land Rover, Pocket DVD, Campbells, SEKO International, Ernst & Young Financial Services, University of Northern Iowa, Time Warner, and others.
Ella thank you for responding. No I don't mind the questions. I have a professional set up in my home. Ninety percent of the demo was cut from my studio via Source Connect to a studio in Chicago (Big House Productions) It's also the home of Sound Advice where my coaches for voice reside. Thank you for the return compliment. It's interesting what I though would be my bread and butter (industrial and narration) is not. I seem to book more jobs that require a dry humorous side to them with some wit added. That's okay it still pays the same. I just did my first national radio spot for Time Warner as a sarcastic person. It was alot of fun as I was able to really cut loose. It felt almost natural. Anyway it's good to get to know different individuals with like interests. After all via the world wide web it's just like living in the same community.
Best to you,
