When I did that spot, I think I was using a T-Rax plug-in with Pro tools for the mixdown. I've since changed to something I find a bit cleaner--The L316 Multimaxer. Still, ultimately, the audio is going to be at the mercy of the radio station's sign…

HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY VOICE OVER EXPERIENCE
Began my voiceover career at the age of 13, then became a radio DJ. Regained my senses and concentrated on voiceover/production, full-time. Curerently work for Nick Sommers Productions in Sarasota, Florida--one of three major companies dedicated to the creation of radio and TV for the concert and live events industry. We handle Elton John, David Fishoff's "Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp," The Commodores (we promoted and distributed their latest cover of their hit "Nightshift," which they re-recorded as a tribute to their friend, Michael Jackson, on the year anniversary of his death) and myriad other clients. Since Sept. 2001, I've been the national radio voice of WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment), creating, voicing, producing all radio in our performance markets, worldwide. As a freelancer, I'm mainly looking for movie trailer and promo work, but will gladly consider any voiceover project for which I may be suited. I've spent 30 years in this business--I obviously love what I do. Visit my website at www.edweigle.com
RECENTLY BOOKED PROJECTS
Voiced a promo currently running nationally on TNT, telling viewers that season one of "HawthoRNe," starring Jada Pinkett Smith, is available on DVD. Signed a contract with Nickelodeon UK to be the announcer for their "UPick Summer" promotion, currently airing across the British Isles. Created audio for radio and TV for Celine Dion's six-year "A New Day" and Bette Middler "The Showgirl Must Go On" show at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, "Titanic: The Artifact Exhibit," "Dialog in the Dark," and many more. I continue to be heard weekly on 110 radio stations and Sirius/XM as the voice of "The Cigar Dave Show."
This fall, I'll begin my fourth consecutive year as the radio/ TV voice for "The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, starring The Rockettes," touring the US and Canada.

VOICE DESCRIPTION
From deep, warm and seductive to dramatic, authoritative in-your-face. Distinctive "movie trailer" voice, heard across America, for nearly 30 years. The national radio voice of World Wrestling Entertainment, since 2001
DIALECTS, Character voices and vocal impressions
Dialects aren't really my bag, although, I answer my land line with a reasonably good Dublin Irish accent. When I say, "Hello! Father Fleming!" It gets rid of telemarketers INSTANTLY--especially when I tell them they've reached a funeral chapel.

EQUIPMENT
In my studio, I use my own 1968 Neumann U87 mic, modified by Klaus Heyne. Focusrite processors, the latest Pro Tools editing software and plug ins.
By the way, I LOVE the little CENTRANCE MICPORT PRO. My wife, Colleen, used to use it to record tags for Playhouse Disney Live, from our home, which I produce, when I get to the studio. For $150, it's waaaaaayyyyy underpriced! I have Colleen on an AKG 414, with a Presonus VXP.
Thanks, Penny, for the nice birthday wish. Colleen and I are having a cookout tomorrow..If you--or anyone else local--are in the neighborhood, please join us!
I run my U87 through a Focusrite Producer Pack ISA430. For mixdown, I use a slight bit of the L3LL Multimaximizer plug-in. I don't like to process stuff too heavily--particularly for radio--since the stations will crunch the hell of it, anyway. TV audio, on the other hand, needs all the help it can get.
What outboard processors do you employ with the U87? And if you don't mind sharing... what plugs do you use on a regular basis on your VO? And/or on the Master out?
