Profile Information

Voice Actor
A former radio and television professional for over 20 years and an automotive advertising specialist for 6 1/2 years...I now own, operate, and have all the fun in the world living my "dream job" of being a successful voice actor and audio producer.
Audio Book "Maxims Morals and Metaphors" by Scott Chou. Available on Amazon.com - PodCast for MetLife - 25min. Animated Cartoon (audio producer) for MediKidz - and with my niche being automotive I've been in 44 different markets this past year.
North American (neutral)
My voice has been described as conversational, mature, energetic, and credible. One that knows how to "sell"! My range delivers a soft sell jewelry spot to a 72hour high energy car spot equally well.
DIALECTS, Character voices and vocal impressions
Working on this with my coach. Currently "Pump" a superhero in a MediKidz animated cartoon.
Senior Male, Middle Age Male, Young Adult Male
ISDN, Source Connect, FTP, AIF, MP3, WAV
I have a custom made Core 2 Quad PC computer, designed for VO work.
My RODE NTK tube microphone goes through a Summit 2BA-221 pre-amp and a dbx 1066 compressor/limiter/gate. I'm running Pro Tools 8.0 using a Mackie 802-VLZ3 mixer and a Symetrix T1-101 phone interface. I have the DigitalJuice music and sfx library as well.

About David Brower aka Poppa

I was in Radio/TV for over 20 years and was fortunate to have been a top rated air personality as well as an award winning play by play announcer. In 2001 I became a Regional Marketing Manager for the 8th largest automotive company in America but current economic times saw my corporate position eliminated. In early 2008 that job loss made the transition to my "dream job" of being a full time voice actor and audio producer virtually immediate.

Hey David, I miss seeing you on VU. I did subscribe to your news feed and I am very much looking forward to receiving it.

I really appreciated the feed on Autism. Before I became disabled, I was a job coach for developmentally disabled adults. I had two clients in particular who had varying levels of autistm and it was such a joy to watch them succeed in small ways at the things they were attempting. I learned through them to celebrate all victories even the small ones equally.

I will continue to pray for you and hope everything is going well. Blessings:)

Dave - You should cross post your new blog article on building a VO studio for under $1000? under $500? under $100 to the Newbie News Group! Best, Al

This just made me laugh... I believe it was Jim Teeson who told me I just didn't have what it took to make it in radio. I was a kid with a tape and a goofy awkward smile.

Thanks for the compliments... :) I still have all of my family in Colorado. Spread out from corner to corner, quite literally. I have been in Loveland quite often. Gorgeous. SImply put, gorgeous.

I grew up in Norwood, Co. just down the road 30 some miles from Telluride.
