HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY VOICE OVER EXPERIENCE
I’ve been a drill sergeant, a luggage salesperson and a soccer mom.
For me, it’s all in a day’s work.
I’ve been part of the business for more than 25 years, but my heart has been in it for much longer.
I knew from the eighth grade that I wanted to do this, when I
enrolled in a correspondence school for voice work, and later went on to study broadcasting at Southern Illinois University.
After having children and moving to Boston, I began to “hit the
pavement” and look for voice acting jobs. My jobs have included explaining the amenities of new homes on a TV tour of homes show, announcing movie theater times for phone patrons and reading steamy romance novels for books on tape.
Eleven years ago I moved to Oregon and had to reestablish my career, making contacts and auditioning for roles. Thankfully, my job was made easier by hiring an agent. I got many local spots for all sorts of regional comapnies.
Since joining a web marketing company, I have been working steadily, using a small, home studio to do their narrations.
I’m willing to work hard, can do an accent or two or know how to stay in a character for an extended period of time and find voice acting to be a challenging and interesting career. I’m basically an actor.
RECENTLY BOOKED PROJECTS
I am a regular narrator for AngelVision Tecnoogies in Tigard, Oregon.
A past agent described my voice as “Friendly and energetic, next-door neighbor style,” I have a
natural smile to my voice.
Thanks for the welcoming posts. I'm sure this site will be a great opportunity to learn from the experts and a lot cheaper than attending all their workshops. I hope I can help a fellow VO talent with suggestions from my own experiences, too.
