HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY VOICE OVER EXPERIENCE
I love life and I love performing in voiceover work - a nice combination.
And that means producers rarely miss a beat when booking me. Because whether I am enjoying life and work from my home studio in Virginia Beach, Virginia, or with the use of my portable studio from vacation sites like California or Hawaii, I'm more than available - I'm uniquely accessible.
30 years in the business, up-to-speed on trends in our biz, happily married, we have two grown sons. I love golf and traveling ... another nice combination ;-)

VOICE DESCRIPTION
Warm, compelling, sincere ... but wait, there's more! ....
From the "guy next door "to out-of-this -world" space aliens, a lot of characters reside in my imagination. And they escape during recording sessions through my voice. You'll hear personalities of all ages and backgrounds, with an abundance of quirks and attitudes; Cartoony voices too, along with some popular impressions, like Rod Serling, Peter Falk, James Stewart, Woody Allen, George C. Scott, & Walter Brennan. But, please don't overlook my signature sound: that friendly, sincere, eternally compelling "real voice" - that makes me a terrific spokesperson!

I know you’ve been a member of Voiceover Universe for some time, but I wanted to introduce one of our groups to you.
I hope you'll check out and join a group called MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT. It's a group dedicated to discussing ways we can market ourselves - what works; what doesn't. You’ll find some very interesting ideas and concepts there! And we would appreciate your input. Click here for the link: MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT!
Thanks for your time! I trust our paths will cross soon!
James -
Thanks for the input. I tend to get lots of work, but have never mastered the agent angle and know that has big potential. I've got the home studio with ISDN and Source Connect, plus I record and send sound files. I have a portable studio, too. Check out www.charlieglaize.com
Hey Charlie, agents want to pigeon hole talent. I think you need to go to as many agents' sites as possible (via voicebank.net) and listen to who does NOT have your sound or who does NOT have as many of your sound as others. These are the agents to target. Also, don't be ruled by state or national borders, this is an electronic age and if the agent in Tokyo wants to rep you because he has space in his talent pool, then you say yes (but you're going to need a home studio).
Hey Charlie, thanks for the message, i played cricket once or twice in a lovely town called East Bergholt in Suffolk - i think that was the closest i ever got to Ipswich - fabulous part of the world. Unfortunately, i won't be able to make Voice this year but i'm sure there will be an 09 version.....let's keep in touch, James
