I know you’ve been a member of Voiceover Universe for some time, but I wanted to introduce one of our groups to you.
I hope you'll check out and join a group called MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT. It's a group dedicated to discussing ways we can market ourselves - what works; what doesn't. You’ll find some very interesting ideas and concepts there! And we would appreciate your input. Click here for the link: MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT!
Thanks for your time! I trust our paths will cross soon!
I've gone the whole hog... I've got soundproofing insulation and 2 layers of soundproofing plaster, then big covered frames on the walls and ceiling with rockwool insulation on the inside.. double glazed windows and soundproofing sliding door. How quiet is your room?? Is there any noise inside or potentially from outside? lol.. you can end up spending a fortune!! However just to get rid of the echo... thick heavy curtains are pretty cool... there's also a mic stand that has a big backing on it to drop the sound as well. The guys at Musiclab in Bowen Hills are awesome...they have these stands. They're open on Saturdays if you wanna check 'em out...
My first studio was literally 3 vertical walls to create my booth..and I covered these with the eggshell shaped mattress foam from Clark Rubber...cheap as chips but very effective at dropping the sound and stopping echo.
Great idea!!! It's fantastic being able to do stuff from home... I am the biggest dag most days...lol.. I get into nice stuff when I have sessions in town... other than that... just really comfy gear. If you need a few ideas for the studio... just yell!!!
Flat chat.... and Lovin' it!!!! Had a midnite isdn sesh last nite to London... it's very cool! So are you going solo? leaving radio for your own VO stuff? There's heaps of fantastic info on here.. but if you need a hand closer to home.. just yell! :-)
