Profile Information

Voice Actor, Copy Writer, Studio Engineer, Creative Director, Speech-Language Interpreter
I was auditioned and recruited by Trish Basanyi in August, 2008, for a SuchAVoice Master Class on January 15th, 2009 at SuchAVoice's studio in Burlington, Vermont.

Having completed the class, I have my professionally produced demo....and I've hit the road running.

After all, my job is to sell your product.
A couple of what amount to be public service announcements. But don't let that fool you...I get about 30 audition offers a day.

Right now, I'm headed over to Tokyo in August, to do promos for a software company that specializes in golf course reservation and management software. In English, mind you, since my Japanese vocal skills are fairly sloppy. It should be interesting, though. A 6'5" white Texan in the land of the rising sun.

Lately, a narrative, a few toadstools to sit on above the fermented earth. A place in the sun.
English and Spanish.
I can be funny in one move, serious in another, but probably best at being authoritative on narrations, yet can run the whole course of vocal ranges for commercials.

With over 30 years of experience in both music production and software development, I can successfully produce what you find in your area of need.

What do you need?
DIALECTS, Character voices and vocal impressions
As far as accents, I don't have one in person, but I can perform southern dialects with exquisite detail, having been born and raised in TEX-AS.

As a consummate vocalist in music, there's this strange ability to pick up on sounds and voices, and mimic them.

Impersonations? Clint Eastwood, but if I listen a few times to anyone, it's usually easy to pick up on their speech patterns, sometimes to hilarious effect.
Senior Male, Middle Age Male, Young Adult Male
Union Affiliation
I have every M-Box tool available..but there's more to it than that.

This shouldn't be a nightmare: it's just a matter of what you want.

Everything imagineable to making a high-quality studio production.

Please tell me the format, style, and intent, and I will deliver it.

If you want a precise, definite microphone, I use an audio technica.

So sue me. It works great for me, and didn't cost me a funeral.

As far as software? I use a variety of CakeWalk tools.

And, of course, I use Pro Tools.

I probably have more computer equipment than the government. And, actually, it's more current.

An inglorious rise to VO "status".

Posted on February 16, 2010 at 4:30pm 0 Comments

Hi all,

I'm still smiling, although I keep forgetting to write on every VO website known to man, forget to post my links on Plaxo or LinkedMe"Out", or many of the websites I got started on, even though my website is incomplete, and I keep having to concentrate on whatever happens to be the personal "latest" in my life, or someone close to me.

After a year of concentrating on this, I think I'm gonna concentrate on the medical business for a while, but not leave…

What happens when friends and family find out you're into VO?

I used to be (and still am, selectively), in the software business. 32 years of it. Building momentous software projects.

It used to be fun, but the last job I had was marked with tiredness, tediousness, and overwork.

And so I jumped ship. I am not cheap, but I have been frugal from my childhood, so there wasn't a problem switiching into the VO world.

I changed careers at 48, but luckily, I had 32 years of experience behind me in not only writing software, but… Continue

Car commercials: My pet peeve

Posted on October 26, 2009 at 4:01pm 0 Comments

Everyone except who lives in a one-horse town, and can walk to work, or the nearest bar, needs a car.

So when I do a car commercial, why do I have to sound and act like a yokle?

Granted, a few car dealers treat their business like gold for the buyer,

But the majority of the commercials are trash talk, and honestly, while I'll prudently do the commercial for prudent funds, I am NOT gonna list it on my resume'.

Who writes this crap? I've read enough… Continue

Hey I know we're in competition here, BUT...

Posted on October 12, 2009 at 7:36pm 0 Comments

You know, I could care less whether or not. Why? Because I don't run my business to "compete" with anyone else.

Whoever is for the job, whoever is right for the job, is tight with me.

When I pull a job, it's right by me.

I hate the constant competition by desperate people.

You pulled your plugs and voted to go this way, and I, for one, despise, how far you'll go to get a gig.

This is a competitive business, just like any… Continue

Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to Tokyo.

Posted on July 29, 2009 at 1:52am 2 Comments

To promote, of all things, golf reservation system software.

8K, all expenses included, for 2 weeks, in downtown Tokyo, Japan.

And it's even in English, but I wouldn't know much about that, since I live in Texas.

It's a wild world, and one never knows what to expect in this crazy business.

Hope you are all well.

Good morning to you,'s been a while since we talked.  I just saw it was your birthday sooooooo, Happy Birthday!  Hey, how did that Japan gig everturn out? Things here are ok, still doing this partime earning "my gas money" each month, but I'm getting ready to re-do myself and see if I can do this without my full time job as a radiation therapist. Let me hear from you soon.

Hi Barry,

My Dad's name is Barry, so you're alright by me already. Good to see someone else in Texas here. I'm an import, but I think I'll stay a while. Thanks for the birthday wishes. You raise a good point. I'll get right on that picture!
Take care,
