HERE'S A LITTLE ABOUT ME AND MY VOICE OVER EXPERIENCE
I started doing VO while at university to get extra pocket money for a UK based VOIP company. In my youth I co presented a childrens program in Nigeria. More Recently I recorded english learning materials for an English School in Spain where I taught english. I moved to Dallas 2 years ago after I got married and have decided 'the time is right' to get back into something I love doing and is fun.I have had training with Gary Terzza in the UK and Such a Voice here in the USA. Thank you so much for the message. How is it for you being a Brit in the US? Listening to your demos I just hear a calm Brit voice with no trace yet of an American accent. Good luck to you in your VO career. I am sure it will go well.
Welcome to Voiceover Universe! You'll meet some old friends and make some new ones around here!
Looking for some fresh ways to market yourself? Should you be on a Pay-To-Play site? Do you need an agent? Want some creative inexpensive ways to get the word out on you? How can you maximize your current client relationships? How do you find your niche? We're all either asking these questions or have some insight.
I hope you'll check out and join a group called MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT. It's a group dedicated to discussing ways we can market ourselves - what works; what doesn't. You’ll find some very interesting ideas and concepts there! And we would appreciate your input. Click here for the link: MARKETING FOR FUN AND PROFIT!
Thanks for your time! I trust our paths will cross soon!
I'm glad that you like my demos. As for teaching you, I am no where near that level of VO expertise! My coaches have been Vanessa Hart and Julie Williams. Check out their VU pages or go to their websites. Otherwise, there are many teachers out there with scads of experience who can help you out. Some are quite pricey some are not. Be careful who you hook up with. I have also taken some training through Edge Studio. If you try them, you can at least get an assessment of your strengths without actually signing up to take (and pay for) any instruction throught them.
Penny & James run the Voice Academy which you can access via internet (there's a link on the VU site). That would be a good place to start, too.
And WELCOME to Positive Thinkers UNITE! We're so glad you've joined us. Be sure to visit our group often and get to know some of the most positive, encouraging and happy people in the world! And please feel free to share your story with us.
I am so happy to be among the first to welcome you to VoiceOver Universe! You have joined a great community filled with talented and very generous people. You'll love it here!
I'd also like to invite you to join my VU Group, Positive Thinkers UNITE. It's a great place to get positive reinforcement and encouragement. We welcome all forward thinking voice actors to join. We hope you will count yourself among us!
Check out the other groups as well by rolling over FORUM at the top of the page and choosing GROUPS from the drop down menu. There are so many GREAT ones!
I wish you the best of luck in your VO career. If I can be of any help, please let me know.
