With the immense popularity of the "In a world..." and "One Man..." trailer liners made famous by Hal and Don, have such liners now become "taboo" in a since or even comical as portrayed by the oh so funny and talented Frank Caliendo among others?
The lines are not taboo.....but are cliche.......when a taxicab driver in New York asks you what you do for a living and you tell them you narrate trailers, and he goes into an "in A World" Frank Callendo imitation, you know that, perhaps, the line calls a little too much attention to itself.
I have only been asked to utter those words in a parody situation.........
A more troubling trend is for trailers to be cut using no narrator at all......only graphic cards.......an approach I, er, cannot heartily recommend. -Beau
