Hi Dan, thanks for the comments. I have been working on my voice acting - currently taking classes from Nancy Wolfson and I love it. On the marketing end, I try to get at least 5 contacts a day searching for local production companies and the like in my area. (By "area", I mean anywhere within 1 - 2 hours) I do have a home studio but haven't delved into really marketing "out there" in the world. I get stuck as I mentioned and find myself staring into the computer screen or running away from it all together. That's why I thought if I could come up with a definitive "here's what you must do today and how to do it" plan, that I might be more productive. Again, any and all insight is appreciated!

Kelly,

I went and listened to your demos on your website (nice website, btw), and you have good demos. Very usable. So my point is, you have the talent! You have the voice! If you'd like to send me two or three of the demos you've sent out on voices.com, I'd be happy to give you some feedback. If you'd like to do that, also send me the message you send out with your auditions.

Also, how do you make 5 new contacts a day? What's your procedure for that?

I trust you'll get some really good insights here! Thanks for posting!

Daily Marketing Plan

So, I've been stuck in a rut and am looking for inspiration. I am trying to be very specific about what I do each day to move my career further. For example, make at least 5 (or more) new contacts a day, answer as many voices.com auditions as possible (keeping in mind that it is more about the practice it provides and getting any work from them is extra), send out 5 (or more) follow ups per day - you get the idea.

Anyone interested in sharing their daily routine? Thanks!

Kelly

Have you all seen Jeff Kafer's brilliant little marketing strategy?

Jeff is a gifted comic illustrator. He draws a strip about voiceover work called Voice-Overload. Check it out at Voice-Overload.com.

It's quick, it's entertaining, and it gets his name out to potential clients. He also uses Twitter to send out info on each new comic release. I wish Jeff had his demos on the site, but he chooses to use a banner ad instead to promote his voiceover work.

In any case, it's still an innovative, creative, non-obtrusive way of connecting with his clients...and potential clients. You know some of his strips are bound to go viral!!!

Congrats Jeff! You're on to something good there!

Ms. Phelps,
Could you please share David's p2p blog with the rest of the class? My V123 is about to expire and I was thinking of moving to Vplanet or Voices.

Thanks,
Alexis
