Marty, God is good. I rejoice that He has seen you through this literal 'storm' and the circumstances it caused. Continue to draw near to Him, and He will draw near to you. I am slowly in my advanced years learning that God didn't promise that there would be no storms - but that He would see us through them, however difficult, if we draw near to Him as the scriptures direct. As a consummate whiner when things are tough I haven't always seen God's hand. But he has never moved. I have been the one who moved from Him. Draw near my brother, draw near.

An update to my July 7th prayer request.

It has been an incredible journey so far and it has only been a little over a month. A couple days after I requested prayer, our home was struck by lightening in one of the worst lightening storms in the last 100 years here in Central-Ohio. Our home then caught fire and at 4AM we were moving in with my in-laws (whom I like very much). At first I was incredibly discouraged yet grateful that we were all able to get out of the home safely and have a place to sleep. When we went back to the home there was very little structural damage or cosmetic damage to any part of the home BUT every appliance, computer, radio, TV, etc was/is not acting right. Some flicker, some sort of work for a minute and then go off and some don't work at all...that said, we have insurance and while they are not taking care of things YET, I have every confidence they will give me a warm fuzzy feeling of being in the right hands...but that stuff isn't the big story.

The Big story is that after learning of this situation that another voice over talent and some of my old buds in radio and even a radio station I have never worked for came together to provide me with studio time to use so I could still work until my studio at the house was back up and running.

We are back in the house. The studio is set up and I am working on demos that are more representative of the range I am capable of instead of just what I have done.

I am grateful to each of you who has remembered us in prayer and thankful that God has once again shown himself to be concerned and capable of taking care of whatever surprises me.

David,

I too made the switch last year... Mine is just a simple iMac with Pro Tools LE 8.0 on an M-Box 2. Love it! The change from Cool Edit Pro to PT 8.0 was a mild challenge, but once I set up VO templates to work from, it started to become fun.
