Hey Michael...it's great that you know that it was a Manley. At some point you WILL be able to afford it for your home studio and you'll know which way to go.

Front Page...wow, that REALLY goes back. That's about 1993...the time I was working on another ill-fated Fox show called, The Chevy Chase Show. Yikes. We did about a thousand promos for it all summer long and they shut it down 4 weeks after it premiered. Disaster.

Great insights, Joe.
I thought I sounded great on a Manley set up at the well equipped Creative group on Times Square -- but I cannot afford that sort of gear for my home studio. Beautiful thing to behold -- retro and gold plated!
I first heard your name back in the mid 90s -- when I was up for the announcer job at a Fox network (short-lived) magazine show called "Front Page." As the time came near to get the word, I bugged my agent so much -- she screamed at me to leave her alone and trust her to take care of things.
Next thing I heard was that Joe Cipriano got the gig.
Fortunately it was my last disappointment (not!)

Hey Joe!
Thanks for sharing all this info!
Question about using differemt mics:
You say that you use a Neumann U87 and sometimes a Sennheiser 416 in a noisy situations...does using 2 different mics become an issue if you have to match something that you previously recorded with the other mic? Or is that not an issue?

Thanks!
Peace!

Liz
