Yes, the latest ASK JOE's were the LIVE ones that we did from the ClubHouse back in July. Hope to get another one up soon.

Dave, maybe I can field this one on behalf of Joe.
This is a good question. Some say you need to have an RT60 time of less than 200ms (pretty dead), others say less than 70ms (very dead).
I knew that when we finished Joe's studio it would be more love than a typical studio booth, but I also knew that because of the amount of space around the mic and variety of surfaces in the room, it would sound natural. We could have squeezed more acoustical absorption panels in there, and maybe put a heavy curtain over the large window.
It's always a tough call, and at the end of the day, the clients determine if the sound is good or not. They like it...

Hi Joe,

Love those new digs! Here's a question about the studio...
You see and hear a lot about whisper rooms and other sound proof enclosures. Yours, however, looks a lot like a radio studio. You even have a big hunk of glass (monitor) right behind your mic. I'm sure you've treated the room acoustically but it seems fairly open. So, how important is it to have a completely "dead" room or booth?

Just wondering...

I am looking forward to tonight--I'm sorry I missed last week's live cast, but I am grateful you share the videos. Allergies have done a number on me this summer and no help from my family doc or ENT to get the scratch out of my throat, so I am especially grateful for the tip on Alkalol. I ran out for it the next day! WOW! What a difference! Although, I can't say my pharmacist was very "impressed" that I asked for it. I think "annoyed" might be a better word--he had to "special" order it. Too bad there isn't something to take the grumpy out of people, huh? Thanks again--you have no idea how much I appreciate and value this tip!! Thanks a million!!
