Happy Holidays!

When narrating books, I used to speak dialogue in whatever dialect the character "spoke" in. However, it's been suggested to me that speaking English in certain foreign accents, such as East Indian & Japanese, could be interpreted as racist. So, should I simply skip doing any dialects & concentrate on the demeanor & personalty of all the speakers, or hire actors with those real dialects to speak in those sections? (which could be costly) What has been your experience lately with this dilemma? What do you do? Any suggestions? Thanks!
