Wish I could be there, but I will be attending a concert by my wife's very talented and entertaining a cappella quartet, Moderately Bright Four!

Will be flying Aberdeen to London Heathrow where I meet up with Elisa Canas then we hop on a Virgin Atlantic flight. Arrive Newark Friday around 7pm - Depart JFK Sunday around 10pm.

As to the event itself, great fun!

If there is a meal elsewhere, as happened last year, before the main event the entertaining part is watching 25 of the top most sought after Voiceoverists in the USA trying to calculate their share of a $322.43 restaurant bill (check) while simultaneously talking about the 15 national TV commercials they did before breakfast. Elisa simply assumes that the bill is per head. 18 exit the restaurant, throw a hat on to the pavement (soydwowk) and do 3 numbers in Barber Shop style. When they've finished they check the pavement only to discover that someone has stolen the hat.

At the mixer everyone spends time playing "hunt the hirer". This game is easy for the 186 Voice Coaches and demo producers as to them everyone else is a prospect but for the Jobbing Voiceoverist almost impossible as both Talent Agents who were invited couldn't attend although I did speak to one earlier in the evening, I said ....

"Waiter, is your Veal vegetarian?"
